I love Love Actually. Great film, but why do I watch it? It tears at my heartstrings. Makes me miss having someone who loves me. Every girl should have someone who thinks they're perfect.

This is amazing.
I adore post-it's, you know this. I can go on and on about how they complete my day. Really, I'm not joking. But I've never, ever, gone to this extent. Now I wish I had. It's great!
Burnt Coffee.
Just my luck. Burnt coffee not even a half cup of honey can make taste good. Too much Guinness, not enough sleep.
Shitty tattoo conversations are making my head spin.

Tennis Elbow
I was really looking forward to the David Byrne/Pink Martini concert in Central Park tonight, but it looks like I won't be going. Err. I need to pack it up pack it in and move my ass into the city, pronto.

Honda Ad Campaign
This new honda ad campaign absolutely made my day. It's a fun little game (takes a minute to load) where you're a bunny and you have to go around collecting carrots and destroying garbage. I've been playing all morning. I've also grown very fond of the music and sound effects and have been bouncing around my desk like a lunatic because of it. haha. Such goodness. Makes me proud to own a Civic.
Brazilian Girls
Considering I haven't been able to stop singing "Don't Stop" (no pun intended) by the Brazilian Girls for, oh, I'd say a good month now, I must say I was surprised to see this write up about them on MSN. Love them.

I don't remember much.
My childhood is a complete blur, but this site reminded me of a few things. I used to believe is a site where you can post about silly things you used to think when you were a child. Here is the one I posted under the category "transport" then "car".
"Don't drink and drive" was drilled into my head at a very early age. I remember driving in the car with my father when I was about 6. I started crying because he was drinking a can of Pepsi. I thought he was going to get pulled over and arrested.I was just talking to someone yesterday about how we wish we still had the minds we had when we were children. We were so creative, imaginative, and silly.
Open Letter
This open letter to the Kansas school board is nothing short of hilarious. If you've been following the debate about Creationism vs. Evolution being taught in our schools, you'll love this one.

Mass Hysteria
I can't even tell you how hard I laugh everytime I check out this Flickr pool called "Pisa Pushers". It's shots of people posing for those ridiculous "look ma, I'm so strong, I'm holding up the leaning tower" photos, only it's from a different perspective, so it looks like these people are airing out their arm pits or something. HA!

Break it down.
This guy has made something internet-spectacular out of LCD Soundsystem's Losing My Edge.
Eye and Ear Candy.
Mega-couple Bjork and Matthew Barney have collaborated on a new film titled Drawing Restraint 9.
Ah, yes.
The Pixies/Interpol/LCD Soundsystem show did not disappoint. It was incredible! Aside from getting bit by hundreds of pesky flies and itty-bitty bugs that you could barely see, the night was gorgeous. Warm, starry, and filled with the greatest music a girl could ask for. Best song of the night, Here Comes Your Man by the Pixies. I still can't believe I saw the Pixies. Now all I have to see live are Radiohead and Coldplay and I can die a happy, happy girl.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered
I'm going (alone). I just bought my ticket for the Pixies/Interpol/LCD Soundsystem show I've mentioned a zillion times in the past day. $53.00. Not bad, considering it's orchestra, dead center. Row 7 seat 1. (shhhh...I know it's the handicap section, and I'm not, but apparently those seats are made available to the general public a few hours before the show) In other words, I win.
Subway systems of the world.
There's something about these maps that remind me of the contour drawings we hated doing in high school art class. For some reason, I was always very pleased with the outcome. These are equally as pleasing, not to mention, interesting.

I'll go it alone.
So, I guess I'm going to this Pixies/Interpol/LCD Soundsystem show all by my lonesome. That's alright. I can probably find a better seat for one. I listened to Interpol on my way into work. Needless to say, I'm uber-excited to see them live. Rock!

Holy Jesus!
No, I'm not religious, but I just found out that THE PIXIES and INTERPOL are playing tomorrow night at JONES BEACH. I'm going. I don't care if I have the shittiest tickets in the place, I'm going. Who's coming?
Weekend Re-cap.
This weekends highlights:
- Going to the half penny with Rob, my neighbor that I grew up with, but haven't spoken to in at least 10 years.
- Joining the Guinness 100 Pint Club and making a pact with Rob that we're going to drink 100 pints of Guinness by the first day of fall. (That means we have to drink 7 pints a week, or one pint a day to get our plaque on the wall)
- Drinking 4 pints in one night. Don't ask me how I did it. I don't remember.
- Robert Moses Field 5; lounging with John on Saturday.
- Falafel from the Mediterranean Express.
- Watching I [heart] Huckabees.
- The Bayshore street fair.
- Running into Justin Cavaleri.
- Vegetarian fueled debates.
- Showering 2 times a day.
- Veggie Burgers.
- Interpol.
- Sun.

Time to go.
I'm thinking of taking a trip to Italy in September. I've checked flights from JFK to Rome, and the fares are completely doable. $580.00 plus tax= around $650.00. I'm thinking of going from 9.14 to 9.21 (my birthday). If anyone is interested in this journey, please let me know.

Coincidence?
Something truly strange happened this afternoon. The phone (land line) rang at my house at around 6pm. I never, ever, ever, answer the home phone because nobody (NOBODY) ever tries to reach me through it. But today, for some reason, I picked it up. It was a man's voice, and he asked for Suzanne. I said "Who's calling?," because, like I said, nobody calls me on the land line. He said "Damieon, Damieon Fray". Now, I had to think for about 3 seconds, I only knew one Damieon, and I hadn't seen him in more than 4 years. It was him. How terribly nice to hear from him. Unfortunately, he called at a bad time seeing as John and I were on the way out the door to embark on one of our ever so wonderful "long walks". The incredibly strange part is that for the past few days, every time I've seen a Nissan Altima, I've thought of Damieon, just for the sheer fact that he used to drive one. Is this a coincidence? I wonder why he's calling. I also wonder why I've recently been getting in touch with so many long lost old friends. Sometimes I feel like my life is going backwards, only this time, it's in a good way. I miss these people. It's only right that they be in my life. I want them there.
I took down his number. I'll give him a call in the daylight hours.

Kickball Monday.
Last night, a group of my friends from college (Stony Brook Art Department), and some other random folk got together and organized a game of kickball. My team, decked out in pink and purple tie-dye and knee-high socks, hit the field with beer in hand. Let me tell you, we kicked some ass. Despite getting kicked off of one well manicured field by an adult softball league, the passing rain showers, the humidity, the bugs, and the two obstacles (Shamis the golden retriever and little Sammy), we were quite the athletes, well, at least for the first inning or so. Nevertheless, it rocked, and I can't wait until next week. Everyone is invited! So, come!
Highlights:
~Anna and I trying to cut our XL shirts so that we weren't swimming in them
~Singing Happy Birthday to Scott (even though nobody really sang)
~Erin's spill over Shamis; He took her out, but she's awesome and got right up.
~Melissa dropping to her bare knees and throwing herself in front of the ball, every time.
~Kate getting in Alex's face.
~The boys sneaking up on the girls from behind to peg them (we'll get them back).
~Scotty's infield homerun.
~Monkey in the middle.
~Kate being well prepared with the yummy scented Off spray.
~Wearing tie-dye to Billy's afterward.
~The look on everyone's face when all of us sweaty tie-dye wearing fools walked into Billy's.
~Getting dirty, period.

This lake, and one of these rowboats set the scene for my favorite part of this weekend(this month, and potentially, this year).
Drive-In
I'm pretty sure this is a can't miss, regardless of what's playing. I haven't been to a drive-in since one of the Pee-Wee movies.

It's Friday, and we ain't got s*** to do.
It's shaping up to be a wonderful day. First off, I just learned I got a dollar raise. This is incredible, seeing as I just received a raise about 3 months ago. Second, I'm getting tattooed tonight. It's been months since my last sitting, and I'm totally ready (financially and physically) to get this damn thing finished already. Third, my parents are away for the night (no explanation needed). Fourth, I'm meeting John for lunch, and he's the best. Whoop!

Caffeine headache.
This morning I awoke with a terrible headache, which I immediately attributed to my lack of caffeinated substances over the past few days. In turn, I was a little too quick to reach for a cup of joe this morning, and in the process of feeding my headache I burned my overly sensitive tongue. Owie.
